Promoters from the Pacific Coast and Western Canada gathered at the RPM@Reno Promoters Workshop, confirming 2018 schedules and participating in two days of talks, discussions, and networking. The Workshop, produced by Racing Promotion Monthly, hosted by the Eldorado Hotel Casino Reno, returned to Reno, and the Eldorado after a two-year hiatus.
Featured presenters included 41st Auto Racing Promoter of the Year, Dan Robinson, Lucas Oil (MO) Speedway, marketing consultant and promoter Mike Lysakowski, Jennerstown (PA) Speedway; Chris Blair, GM at Gateway (IL) Motorsports Park, 39th Auto Racing Promoter of the Year Joe Doellefeld, and legal experts Cary Agajanian and Paul Tretreault. Twelve additional “roundtable” discussions covered dirt track preparation, sealed engine technology, mobile social media live-streaming, race track human resources management, emergency incident management, and the mobilization of race track websites. Other discussions covered dirt and paved track operations, ticketing and admissions, the streaming of digital video and timing and scoring, sponsorship, and a special roundtable for promotional newcomers.
The Workshops series continues with the one-day, 5th Annual RPM@Indy Workshop, on December 6, in the Media Center on the grounds of Indianapolis Motor Speedway. RPM@Indy offers an abbreviated “best of” from the RPM@Reno Workshop. Advanced RPM@Indy credentials remain available and the session schedule is available at RacingPromotionMonthly.Com. The 45th Workshops Series concludes in February with the RPM@Daytona Workshop, convening at the Hilton Daytona Beach, February 11-13, 2018. The Daytona Beach Workshop offers the same agenda as the RPM@Reno.
